Who is Nowata?
Nowata Limited has 40 years’ experience within the African mining reagents supply chain industry.
Nowata in its early stages primarily traded chemicals to port supplying roughly 18 countries across Africa
In 2017 Nowata believed the African market was changing and there was a growing need to localise its business model.
The belief was confirmed, today Nowata is active in 11 African countries with fully localised operations consisting of local management and infrastructure. Nowata is known as one of the major diversified suppliers of chemicals and metallurgical expertise to the African mining industry.
The drive for localisation continues as we look to bring our knowledge and technical skills in-country and closer to the client whilst expanding our offering to include water treatment, mining equipment, agriculture, pump equipment.
Nowata’s localisation
Nowata saw a need to localise its business as the African mining market opened up through globalisation and ease of travelling in Africa.
The key drivers in the need to localise were not due to regulations but to bring products and services onshore to be easily accessible by the end-user. As well as partnering with individuals who understand the business culture.
The countries where we currently have operations or partnerships which include fully compliant entities, warehouses, management & technical teams :
- West Africa – ʹBurkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal & Mali
- East Africa – Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia & DRC
- Southern Africa – Zimbabwe, South Africa & Namibia

ALT Nowata Senegal
ALT Afrique & Nowata have beeen cooperating and working together closely since October 2023 with the aim of supplying products and services to the Senegalese mining and other industries.
